Localized EMP Device

Electronic Warfare

Generates a short-range electromagnetic pulse that disables all electronics in the affected area. Can instantly neutralize any drone regardless of type — including fiber-optic and autonomous systems. The ultimate 'hard kill' electronic weapon.

How It Works

An explosively-driven or capacitor-bank EMP generator creates an intense, short-duration electromagnetic pulse. The induced currents in any electronic circuits within the blast radius exceed component tolerances, permanently destroying processors, sensors, motors controllers, and communication systems.

Technical Specifications

range
10-500 m (effective radius varies greatly)
cost
$50,000-$1,000,000
deployment Time
Pre-positioned or vehicle-mounted
crew Required
2-4 operators
weight
20-500 kg (device dependent)
power Requirement
High-energy capacitor bank or explosive driver

Advantages

  • + Destroys ALL electronics regardless of shielding level
  • + Works against fiber-optic, autonomous, and all drone types
  • + Instant effect — no tracking required
  • + Area denial — covers a zone, not a point
  • + Cannot be evaded once within radius

Disadvantages

  • Destroys all friendly electronics in range too
  • Very short effective range
  • Extremely expensive per use
  • Explosive-driven variants are single-use
  • Massive friendly electronic fratricide risk
  • Technology still largely classified/experimental

Tactical Deployment Tips

  • Pre-position as last-resort defense around critical assets
  • Shield all friendly electronics before activation
  • Use only when other countermeasures have failed
  • Deploy in areas with minimal friendly electronic equipment

Limitations & Vulnerabilities

  • Destroys friendly electronics along with hostile
  • Very limited range makes tactical use difficult
  • Cannot discriminate between friend and foe
  • Most variants are single-use
